Dokumente einer Bewegung“, Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf, September/ Oktober 1958, Silbergelatine auf Baryt, Stiftung Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf – Archiv künstlerischer Fotografie der rheinischen Kunstszene (AFORK)

2 February - 7 April 2013

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of AFORK (Archiv künstlerischer Fotografie der rheinischen Kunstszene) (archive of artistic photography of the Rhineland’s art scene) Museum Kunstpalast has set up a photography room featuring predominantly latest acquisitions. The selection includes portrait photographs by Bernd Jansen, Benjamin Katz, Erika Kiffl, Ute Klophaus, Claudia van Koolwijk, Manfred Leve,  Klaus Mettig, Angelika Platen, Nic Tenwiggenhorn and Sebastian Riemer: 10 photographs showing 10 faces ranging from Man Ray to Maren Maurer.

This presentation spotlights AFORK, which has grown to a considerable size, and juxtaposes individual photographs, which are invariable part of a series and would warrant an entire chapter by their own right. Interested visitors and scholars are invited to be inspired by and use the documents of the entire archive for their research endeavours.
