Youth Club

The Youth Club was created in 2006 from a support programme for artistically gifted children, but from the beginning has been open to anyone interested in taking part.  Its members take a look behind the scenes of the Museum and visit other cultural institutions, including the nearby Art Academy.  But above all, those in the Youth Club can work artistically.  It is a meeting point for young people aged 13 and over who enjoy drawing, painting, modelling and building.  Various artists help them to put their ideas into practice.  This has enabled ambitious projects to be repeatedly realised.  For example in 2008 the Youth Club transformed the stage of the concert hall into a gallery for a family concert and adapted works of art from the Museum’s collection to it.  In 2009 the short film “Sweet Dream” was made for the concert hall for the “3-2-1 Ignition” series of concerts.  Cartoon elements and real images were merged to form a “sweet dream” for the allegro from Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s midsummer night’s dream.
