The Collection

The collection of Prints and Drawings comprises works from the fifteenth to the twenty-first century, in all some 80 000 drawings and prints. Areas of specialisation are drawings of the Baroque period, the nineteenth century, Expressionism and photography.

True to this trinity of priorities, the Department of Prints and Drawings lays store in researching its holdings and consistently and systematically applies the implications derived through this foundational work to the collection.
