The Collection

The art of the twentieth and twenty-first century is represented at Museum Kunstpalast with a comprehensive stock of more than 3000 works as well as numerous permanent loans. The art of contemporaries has been a collecting subject ever since the museum’s foundation in 1913; but it is only since 1969 that a Department of Modern Art has existed in its own right.

A New Permanent Loan

Coinciding with the inaugural show of our newly-hung collection, the Museum is proud to present as a new permanent loan by a private lender, Stephan Balkenhol’s sculpture, Grosser Kopf mit kleinem Mann (Large Head with Little Man), of 2010.
